NEMLIT level B medicines in Tanzania: what a health centre can stock and who can prescribe them
Tanzania's National Essential Medicines List (NEMLIT, 7th edition, 2026) lists 73 medicines at level B, meaning they should be available from health centre level upwards. Level B medicines may be prescribed by specialists, medical officers, dental officers, assistant medical officers and clinical officers. None of them is on the DukaDawa pharmacy network yet.

The NEMLIT (7th edition, 2026) lists 73 medicines at level B (health centre), in 42 categories, most in Access Group Antibiotics. A health centre may also stock medicines listed at level A.
